CLOTHES REPAIR
Have you got some clothes that needs fixing?
I started my sewing career working in costume and running wardrobe. Millinery was a part of that world and my niche... But this also means that I have spent a lot of hours doing costume/clothes making & maintenance.
This includes from basic repairs like fixing buttons/poppers, repairing rips in costumes, and also laundry and hours and hours of hanging clothes up and dressing in backstage theatre, as well as working as an assistant costume maker too in theatre workrooms, as well as assisting bridal dressmakers.
I still work in this world when possible too! Last year I worked on three shows for Bradford 2025 in the costume team for example.
In the purpose of sustainable fashion and maintaining clothes it seems silly not to offer some basic repair services like this when you can do. So please get in touch if you have some alterations that need doing.
This means if you've got a button loose or trousers that need taking up then I can help. Plot spoil I'm a short arse, I regularly have to take up my own trousers.
This also includes bigger alterations such as bridal alterations, replacing coat linings, seam repair and also pattern drafting. Yes this most definitely includes cap repairs too.
To enquire about any clothes that needs fixing or altering, just drop an email to hello@thecapalog.com with any photos if poss and I'll get back to you and will advise on whether it can be fixed and what it might involve.
You can drop off clothes to be repaired at my Saltaire studio at Salts Mill and collect from here also. Turnaround depends on how long it will take and if it is possible or not. Repairs can also be done via post too.
Please note visiting the studio is by appointment only and not everything can be fixed. Always happy to discuss if it is possible or not though.
